Project Management Intern - DV Dashboard

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

This internship will provide an opportunity to learn about Project Management in the industries of affordable housing and advocacy for domestic violence survivors. You will receive hands-on experience in (i) researching domestic violence trends in New Jersey and (ii) creating a functional database for statistical analysis. After an introduction to project management methodology and relevant industries, you will develop research and presentation skills, create “good data” for statistics on domestic violence, and analyze trends. You will also develop problem-solving skills in a business environment to structure and implement policy advocacy skills by synthesizing recommendations from trend analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Heavy Excel cleanup and data management work to create “clean data”

  • Produce usable data files to be incorporated in DV Dashboard

  • Attend presentations on coercive control and provide feedback

  • Twice weekly meetings for training and project management oversight consultations

  • Create report on internship overview and lessons learned to institutionalize role


Project Management Intern - Media & Marketing

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

This internship will provide an opportunity to learn about Project Management in the industries of affordable housing and niche blogging. You will receive hands-on experience in (i) researching the affordable housing market in Bergen County and (ii) monetizing the niche website dailyrenewalwalk.com. After an introduction to project management methodology and relevant industries, you will develop research and presentation skills, review financial statements, and apply financial analysis to existing affordable housing projects. You will also develop problem-solving skills in a business environment to structure and implement monetization strategies for niche content using film production and media marketing techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce one 20-minute short film for dailyrenewalwalk.com

  • Produce video to market website launch and trailer for short film

  • Attend presentations on affordable housing pilot program and provide feedback

  • Twice weekly meetings for training and project management oversight consultations

  • Create report on internship overview and lessons learned to institutionalize role


For Both Positions

WHAT WE EXPECT

We expect you to be motivated and proactive. You will work collaboratively with senior leaders, work independently, and actively participate in discussions in all project activity. Self-paced work through end of August 2022.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuing a 4-year degree at university

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher in chosen major

  • MS Excel and internet research proficiency

  • Solid written and oral communication skills

  • Extremely detailed-oriented and propensity toward high-quality standards

  • Succeeding academically and possess a track record of applicable accomplishments

  • Able to self-motivate with limited supervision and take ownership of projects

  • Capacity to devote 20 hours per week for 10 weeks

 COMPENSATION

$1,500 stipend
